Her research trajectory has spanned dynamic academic environments and the more demanding pharmaceutical industry in both Syria and the UK. After her tenure at UCL, she transitioned to a permanent academic position as Lecturer 2 (Research & Teaching)-equivalent to Assistant professor at 探花社区, where she鈥檚 part of the founding team of the new School of Pharmacy. She鈥檚 still affiliated to UCL as visiting scientist.

She is proud to hold a Fellowship with the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a recognition of her dedication to high-quality teaching and learning. This accreditation has shaped her approach to curriculum design, assessment strategies, small-group teaching, and undergraduate research supervision. She has extensive experience in developing and delivering innovative MPharm and MSc programs, with a strong emphasis on inclusive education, study skills enhancement, and career development support for both domestic and international students.

Her research focuses on medicinal chemistry and drug discovery:

• Development of new anti-viral drugs
• Development of breast cancer & anti-HIV treatment
• Development of new treatment for neglected diseases (Particularly Chagas disease).
• Development of anti-tuberculosis drugs & new generation antibiotics
• Exploring new diagnostic methods for the neurodegenerative diseases

2020聽 聽Her research project: 鈥淒evelopment of new drugs for Chagas disease treatment鈥� in collaboration with Geneva University has been awarded the "Project of the Year 2023鈥� prize by the DNDi (Drug for Neglected Diseases Initiative) Scientific Advisory Committee.

2004聽聽聽聽聽 Franco-Syrian Scholarship, this award lasted for five years which funded my MSc and PhD at Paris XI University.聽

To share her research and engage with the global scientific community, she has participated in over 45 international conferences and symposiums across Europe, Japan, the UK, the UAE, Egypt, and Syria.聽 She actively contributes to scholarly publishing as a regular reviewer for leading Q1 journals such as Frontiers in Chemistry, Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and various MDPI journals. She has been recognized as a trusted reviewer and currently serve on the editorial board of the Archive of Advanced Chemistry Journal, as well as a guest editor for MDPI journals.

Beyond academia, she鈥檚 passionate about making science accessible to younger generations. As a STEM ambassador, she actively supports school outreach initiatives, inspiring future scientists and promoting engagement with the pharmaceutical sciences
